Privacy policy
How we collect, use and look after your personal information -
handled with the same care we give your pet.
01 Who we are
Pine Farm Kennels & Cattery is a family-run boarding kennels and cattery. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe, in line with UK data protection law (UK GDPR).
For anything relating to your information, you can reach us at pinefarmkennels@yahoo.com or 07946 452942.
02 What we collect
To board your pet and keep them safe, we collect:
- Your details - name, address, phone number and email.
- An emergency contact - the name and number of someone who can help if we can't reach you.
- Your pet's details - name, breed, age, microchip number, vaccination record and your vet's details.
- Care information - feeding instructions, any medication, allergies and relevant medical notes.
03 Why we use it
We only use your information to run our boarding service - to take and manage your booking, care for your pet correctly, contact you or your emergency contact when needed, and arrange veterinary care in an emergency. We do not use your details for marketing.
04 Our booking system
We take and manage bookings through KennelBooker (kennelbooker.com), a third-party online booking provider whose service is hosted in the cloud. When you make a booking, the information needed to process it is shared with and stored by KennelBooker on our behalf.
KennelBooker processes this information only to provide the booking service to us and is responsible for the security of the data held on their platform. We recommend reading KennelBooker's own privacy policy for details of how they handle your data.
05 Who we share it with
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with outside authorities or any third party for their own purposes. The only parties who may receive your information are:
- Our booking provider, KennelBooker, to process your booking (see above).
- A veterinary practice, if your pet needs treatment during their stay.
We may also disclose information if we are required to by law, but we will never do so routinely or by choice.
06 How long we keep it
We keep your information only for as long as we need it to provide our service and to meet our legal and insurance obligations. When it is no longer needed, it is securely deleted.
07 Keeping it safe
Records used on-site to log pets in and manage the calendar are kept on our own systems and are accessible only to us. Booking information held with KennelBooker is protected by their platform's security measures. We take reasonable steps to keep all of your information secure.
08 Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
- Ask us to delete your information, where we are not required to keep it.
- Object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it.
To make any of these requests, just contact us using the details above. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
